An Experienced and Certified Psychologist
Michael Fish became a licensed psychologist in 1986. For the first six years he specialized in treatment and evaluation of children and adolescents. Dr. Fish then expanded to consultations in psychiatric hospitals and private practice. He then expanded to treating and evaluating adults in private practice. For several years, he conducted forensic evaluations for the court. Areas of specialties are ADHD, learning disabilities, work-related stress, relationship problems, depression, anxiety, and aging.
Dr. Fish has always been a solo practitioner and provides individualized attention and treatment. His working hours are flexible and begin at 9:00 am and end at 8:00 pm Monday through Thursday and from 9:00 to 5:00 on Friday. Since the pandemic, his practice became remote using Zoom. Recently, he opened his office on Tuesdays exclusively for in-person sessions. He is licensed in Florida and is applying for licensure in South Carolina. He has been certified by PsyPact to provide telehealth in most states. Since the pandemic, he no longer provides evaluations.
Dr. Fish accepts many insurance plans including: Medicare, Blue Cross/Blue Shield.
Professional Journey & Expertise
Education
Completed his B.A. in Abnormal Psychology from McGill University, and earned his Ph.D. from East Texas State University (now East Texas A&M). Dr. Fish completed his internship at Medical University of South Carolina.
Early Career
Served as Clinical Director at a shelter for abused adolescents, then worked for six years at the Children's Psychiatric Center in Miami.
Diverse Experience
Gained experience in group practices specializing in ADHD and other childhood issues. He also served as a consultant for several psychiatric hospitals.
Community Involvement
Helped develop methods for identifying students with ADHD as part of a task force for the Broward School Board. He also lectured on childhood psychopathology at Nova Southeastern University's osteopathic medical school for three years.
Current Practice
Since 1993, he has maintained a solo practice focusing on personalized care for individuals, couples, and families. He personally handles all testing, therapy, and patient calls.

Sessions typically run for 60 minutes, though he extends them during a crisis to ensure you have the support you need. He is committed to direct communication, personally returning all calls the same day, often within a couple of hours. While he does not prescribe medication, he works collaboratively with trusted psychiatrists, making referrals when medication is a beneficial part of your treatment plan.
